Dosage Lasix

I am presently attending the filming of a Teleios lecture series by Alister McGrath of Oxford at Disney/MGM Studios Dosage lasix, in Orlando, Florida. It's a relatively intense investigation into historical insersections between faith and science and between theologians and scientists. McGrath is a very clear and professorial teacher.

I'm currently very intrigued at the paradoxical nature of the quest of studying theology. On the one hand, theology is everything: your theological worldview is a primary determinant of how you choose to live your life. This is true for atheists, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and every faith, dosage lasix. Your conception of the nature and order of the univese drastically affects both the big-picture and every-day decisions of life: life is essentially a continuous guess-and-test theological experiment.

But while theology is everything, Lasix in midland texas, by its very nature we can never be sure we have exactly the right one; life is short and we die before we find all the answers. Your theology is basically an attempt to put your life experiences into words, as my theology is an attempt to explain the universe as I have experienced it. We each bet every day of our lives on our essential theology of today, and we are constantly refining our individual theologies a posteriori in order to explain new experiences that can't be explained by our theology of yesterday. Dosage lasix, However, as we all know, the history of the world is more or less a blooper reel of how humans have institutionalized and co-opted theology in order to achieve their personal or political agendas. Sadly, for all the good that theology offers us, we seem to have problems not using our theologies (real or pretended) to abuse others. Instead of honestly acknowledging our faith as a work in progress, morphine lasix chf treatment, we follow the well-trodden ruts of our forefathers by 1) inventing theologies that we do not really believe because 2) we can use them as license to disobey our faiths' teachings in order to get what we really want for ourselves.

In my opinion, this is a major problem within contemporary American political discourse. Theological code-words are presently some of the most tried-and-true weapons that politicians break out of the armory in order to advance their agendas in times of need. On the right, Karl Rove has constructed a national infrastructure of religious authorities through which Republican messages are broadcast to the congregations (explicitly on occasion, but more often quietly and with a wink and a nudge), dosage lasix. And as has been well documented, the Democratic party's religious-mouthpiece infrastructure is comparatively "third world". But while the left is still far behind, Potassium lasix, word on the street is Howard Dean and the Dems have scrambled an army of consultants to build a respectable competitor to the well-oiled and heavily-armored God-is-a-Republican machine--as long as it doesn't alienate the party base too much.

If I were to pursue any further theological study, it would be motivated by a desire to equip myself with the field's history and vocabulary in order that I could pursue a role of "damage control" within the contemporary American political theology discourse. It seems like much more Kingdom value could be realized on this earth were we to simply devote our energy toward stopping how we are using theology as license for doing ill, in order to counter-balance the preponderance of theological prescriptions for American political issues that are clearly fueled by very mixed motivations at best.
