I gave my mom “Amazing Grace,” by Kathleen Norris. It has sparked some great conversations already, as I have been catching up with my folks on this visit. I gave my Dad a book about Merton by Henri Nouwen and I gave my sister a book abou Miles Davis. Theologians all (Norris, Nouwen and Davis), it has been a fruitful time, discussion-wise. I want to give a Christmas gift (belated) to the woman I work with (that I think I love after knowing her two weeks) but I don’t want to weird her out. I think I will do it though… A wonderful Merton quote in a simple frame…
“Living is the constant adjustment of life to thought and thought to life in such a way that we are always growing, always experiencing new things in the old and old things in the new. Thus, life is always new.”
Life is short… the hell with being safe…
